Poetry - Again

The A215 conferences are settling down a little now so that gives me time to actually get on with studying! Writing Haikus is a daily event now so I thought I had better move along the Creative Writing course book and focus on poetry. I have no problems with freewriting from clusters so I am using my photo of the red shoe above as an inspiration for a poem about Auswitch. It ought to get me going as it stirs up many emotions in me because my imagination asks questions like 'Who was she?' 'Did she know she was going to die the day she put the red shoes on and got on the train?'

My problem is I want poetry to rhyme and can't see the point of lines that don't. That's prose?

Going to Cuba at the end of March so shall take some Hemmingway with me to read. One of the TMA questions is about a journey so perhaps I could write my TMA while drinking dark rum, smoking a Havana cigar and learning to Salsa? Could do worse - in fact it could improve my writing as I loosen up a little and become less self concious about what I'm saying. On the other hand, perhaps not.
